Short Play Scripts Accepted for New Publication
Short play nights are a common way for emerging playwrights to have their work performed, meet directors, work with actors, and engage in the theatre-making process. The short play as a form forces playwrights to be creative and concise. However, short plays are rarely performed for more than one night. Rarer still is the opportunity for playwrights to have their short plays published.
Amper & Sand, a young, independent London-based publisher seeks short play scripts for its latest publication, which will celebrate the best of the UK’s short play writing. Scripts must have been performed at a venue in the UK in 2017 and should be under 15 pages of dialogue. Playwrights will retain the right to their work. At the moment, we can offer compensation of £10, plus two copies of the text. If the publication sells more than 450 copies, we are able to pay an additional £40 to better recognise the true value of the writers’ time and work.
Submissions are accepted through Amper & Sand’s submittable page, through 15 October.
